Check your tach against a mechanic's tach...

Unless your car happens to be a V16 Cadillac... they can idle super slow...

No way a little 1.8 four banger is supposed to idle anywhere near 200 rpm. I don't think it would even run. The 5 ton I drove in the army idled at 500 rpm and I think that had a 8.3l Cummins diesel.

What time is it when your clock strikes 13? Time to get a new clock!! While I am no expert and I didn't see what kind of car you are driving (I don't think that matters anyway) - if your tach says 200 rpm at idle it's time to get a new tach (or at least check the wiring)!!
