But you are right apples to apples...... Let's have your EFI, Nos, turbo/supercharger and add 1,000 to 2,000 pounds to your car to be more even.
No. Simply compare 1960 Corvette to 2012 Corvette.
Which one is faster? 2012
Which one handles better? 2012
Which one is more comfortable? 2012
Which one is more advanced? 2012
Which one is better looking? 2012

You are assuming nothing has been done or altered on that '60. That's simply not the case a great deal of the time. A new Vette is a pig in the weight department. A '60 is small and light. You could buy a '12 and have change left over for a mint example. The gift that keeps giving....it only goes up in value while the '12 depreciates like a mug. Many people found out a few years back when Ford reissued the T-Bird that was the case. For the price they wanted for a new one, you could buy a nice '55-'57. It wasn't worth pooh after a few years either. I'd take the '55-'65 anyday over it.
PT Cruiser anyone??? It's a 4 cylinder minivan when you get to the core of it. Give me the real panel truck it was designed after. I'll retire with money in the bank. Have you priced a '71 Hemi Cuda convertible anything? You could buy 5 '12 Vettes for that and then some.

Case closed. Thank you
That is a matter of opinion. I much prefer the styling of the '60 'Vette over a '12. And the styling of the 1972 and earlier 'Vettes over the late-model ones.
So the case is not closed.
Also, the most expensive 1960 'Vette was more affordable than the most expensive than the 2012 'Vette, even when factoring inflation in.

Of course since high performance Vette did not exist in 2012. How about comparing price and performance of the low end Vette?
You still didn't answer my question about performance though... was 1960 Vette performance anywhere near 2012 Vette both base and high end?
Many of you ran off topic when you started talking performance.
The OP asked about looks only, not performance.
I submit that the older Vetts like this 72 were far ahead in the styling department than their newer counterparts.
Bob.
