No, they excepted them for payment before he undid them, and then they accepted them.

Ohh ouch...

Really, is this a English class?
I bet you never make a mistake.
What's it like being so perfect.
It's time to grow up, this isn't the 2nd grade, or is it?

to take or receive (something offered); receive with approval or favor: to accept a present; to accept a proposal.

Ah, no they didn't.
They took pics of them all folded up and handed them back to him for him to unfold them.
Then they were excepted as payment.

"As might be expected, the cashier at the police station was not too happy at the boxed surprise."
"What's that?" the cashier asks, nonplussed. "I am not going to take them like that. The way that you have it folded…I'm not going to sit here and unfold all of that."
"After a bit of awkward back-and-forth, the man is finally asked by a police officer to unfold all the dollar bills."

So what you're saying is that they didn't take them for payment or excepted them from being eligible for payment prior to being unfolded?

On his hands. "Someone" is a singular subject.
