I think it might be good to point out here that trucks are inherently less safe than cars. They have a higher center of gravity and are not balanced (nose heavy). They tend to roll over or spin out much easier than a car does.

Ideally, a 16-year-old boy should drive a 1958 Buick four door. Something large, slow, heavy with lots of steel around them.

Thats because your car is older and exempt.

It is known that they are less reliable over time. I should say prone to failure/deploy

If your car is within whatever the spec is, I think its 15 years here in CT. After that it doesnt matter.
After that time period, the car becomes emission exempt also and I dont have to worry about emissions

You would have problems if you had a 2000 Saab and disabled the bags, your insurance definitely wouldnt cover anything and most likely drop you immediately.

In high school I shifted for my friend so he could text. I also had friends steer for each other. Looking back I'm glad I survived!!

Talking S-10

FYI, we did buy this lil' truck. It's the best! he ain't driven it much since he violated provisions of test pilots license. LOL. So all's well, it runs great sittin'in d/w;gets great MPG like that. If keeps head head out of his ass, he can drive again FEB. 2th.

Kiddo's done a few things to it but still all in one running piece though; real critical stuff.....removed dog dish hubcaps (YEP i've got em'),pimpy racey pedal pads, shifter knob, cherry bomb muffler, black rattle can paint, black-ice scented tree, kids stuff.

He'll have $ for his Honda car (true love) when he gets back from Nat. Guard boot camp, & 18(free at last sonny); I do love my son and are so proud of him for making THAT commitment at least.

So, I'll have a lil 'ol' used S-10 come around then! Mamma won't mind either.

I schemed it together I suppose, told him all of the possibilities for refurbish with it etc... He did get arroused by the possibilities, alot of short on $ ambition so we bought it with him......................and me LOL!!! But with his little money, he'd-'ve bought some ****ty little Honda- not safe and broke more than running. Not sittin' at my place bud!

He's all pecker and eyeballs man.

Old stuff does rule!
