I would try this on a window you hardly ever look thru first.

What I like in general for this sort of thing is Invisible Glass pre-wet wipes by Stoner. Not the cheapest but one of the most convenient ways to clean the inside of windshields.

More anti-freeze. If all fails, like-dissolves-like.

The main ingredient in anti-freeze is ethylene glycol. Ethylene glycol is completely soluble in good, old water. Adding a touch of liquid dishwashing detergent won't hurt.

Smile Removing antifreeze film from car windows

Recently had a coolant leak in the heater core of our Dodge Caravan. To replace the heater core this model requires removal of the steering wheel, airbag module and steering column along with some of the lower dash board and console. I used aluma-seal and it seemed to stop the leak but I couldn't remove the antifreeze film from the interior glass by trying soap and warm water, denatured and isopropyl alchol, laquer thinner, paint thinner, degreasers of various kinds, butyrate dope thinner and every kind of glass cleaner I could locate. What finally worked was a liberal application of Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover with a paper towel and then using many paper towels wiped off the residue of wax remover and antifreeze film. After removing all I could I washed the glass with ammonia based glass cleaner and dried with many more paper towels and now the glass is clean and film free. In order to dry what little antifreeze remained in the ducts I drove with high heat and the defrosters full on. If you've had this problem, you have my sympathy.

Smile Removing antifreeze film from car windows

Use Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover on folded paper towels with a liberal dose of elbow grease. Then use fresh paper towels to remove the residue of wax remover and antifreeze film. Then clean the glass with an ammonia based window cleaner and many more paper towels and the result is clean, dry glass.

Default when cleaning ethylene glycol from your windsheild

when cleaning ethylene glycol from inside your windsheild , dont use the cheep errasier spongs . I found that the 3M brand with the blue sponge back worked the best . Wash the windshield with the white side , then the blue , it will clean it quickly .
