I don't know if it's only in the city where I live, or if this problem is found everywhere, but I've reached the end of my rope with people who drive well below the speed limit driving on the LEFT side of the road. WHY why why????? What's their problem? Do they not realize that if you're moving slowly you need to be on the side of the road? How did they get their license? Did they not have to take a test? They block traffic for miles, and think nothing of it.

What could possibly be going through their minds when they do this? WHY do they do this?

I also find a huge problem with people who forget to make a turn, and so slow down and block all traffic with their left turning signal on, to get on the left lane. For Pete's sake, keep going and THEN find a way to go back to your turn! Don't block the road!

Maybe I'm the only person frustrated by these things. I wonder if there are bumper stickers out there that say, "If you're a slow moving vehicle, STAY ON THE RIGHT!" Or, "If you missed your turn, DO NOT BLOCK EVERYONE BEHIND YOU BY STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO LET YOU INTO THE LEFT LANE!"

Can you tell I'm frustrated?

Because they feel it is their job to police the road. The sign as 40, so I am going to make sure they do 40. The 2nd situation has to be with lazyness and entitlement.

I have been known to pass them when I can, get in front of them, then go even slower than they do for a while to give them the message. One gave me the finger one day.

Because it's way too easy to get a driver's license in the US. An average person only needs to know how to operate a motor vehicle; not necessarily a proper operation, mind you. I have stopped being courteous and nowadays I have no problem passing from the right.

Regarding stopping/nearly stopping on a highway, here is an example. A few days ago there was a pile up at the ring road around here; to blame was a short-lived snow squall. One of the news stations interviewed a motorist about what happened. In a nutshell, he drove into the snow squall and due to reduced visibility, he put on the brakes and stopped. I was aghast.

Don't worry, you are not alone, it's common practices in US traffic.

Only to anger you, I suppose. That is the only reason.

Oh yea, it's everywhere. I also love when two cars stay right beside each other and you can't pass. Well, I guess I found another use for the turning lane!

You'll find idiot drivers everywhere. I no longer drive in rush hour traffic, at all. I have a flexible work schedule, and on days where I'm not working from home, I always get to work around 10am and leave around 4pm just to make sure I don't hit traffic. I've had 3 cars totaled from other idiots running into me, and 2 other cars were in accidents from other people texting, talking on the phone, eating, you name it... while driving.

I've given up and try to limit my drives to times where I know traffic won't be an issue.

Why do some people feel the need to make another useless thread on a topic that will receive the expected responses and then die off into oblivion? Deal with the fact that some people aren't considerate and move on with your life. We all know some people drive poorly so this isn't some kind of newly minted discovery you've come across.

This! a thousand times this!

I see it so often in maine.

I get that some people like to take their time and have little pleasure cruises to and from work, but why must their choice be forced on others?
