What a joke! It gets less miles per gallon and the E85 gums up the injectors, fuel filter in about 4K miles. You have to really turn-over the E85 in fuel tanks, or it will start to seperate.

E85 costs alot to produce. By the time you compare it towards typical gasoline, it isn't feasible. Your still emitting the same amount of pollutants after factoring in the loss of mpg's.

Any one want to comment on other alternative fuels. We also have some vehicles powered by NG. However, I heard that the cost is going sky high.

Ethanol is a fool's errand. And since nobody in Congress has the balls to say so, we're getting a massive ethanol mandate that has driven the price of agricultural commodities through the roof all over the world. Thanks a f#&@ing lot, Congress.

(NOTE TO CONGRESS: If you have to mandate an economic activity, chances are very good that it's a waste of resources.)

anyone else ever think that the us govt's recent push on corn ethanol has anything to do with europe's ban of our corn and modified corn products? they call it a health hazard (rightly so), we call them tyrants, and in the meantime hey lets create a false sense of insecurity by ramping up ethanol prodution and calling it the saving grace from terrorism... lol.

anyway, honestly I don't think the answer lies in alternative fuels (beyond diesel). i don't think its in hybrids either. i think the industry should be actively working to take weight out of all the porker vehicles out there.
