A friend of a friend has a 2007 Yaris sedan with about 12,000 miles on it. He's been very happy with the economy and reliability. I've ridden in it a couple of times and it seems to have a lot more interior room than you'd expect from a small car like that. Toyotas have a great reputation for dependability. If I was looking for a new vehicle, the Yaris is one I'd seriously consider, with gas prices only going higher all the time.

I just was looking at these micro cars - and did some research and most reviews rated the nissan versa the highest of all the 3 - yaris, fit, and versa. I would not get a smaller car unless it had the side air bags for sure.

The side air bags would be a must.

A guy I know has an '07 Yaris sedan and is totally sold on it. If I were looking for a new car, this is one that would be on my short list. Fabulous gas mileage, Toyota quality, good interior space, and low purchase price. Classier styling than most econoboxes, too.

The Dodge I used to own ('66 Dart GT V-8) had a "problem" with burning... not oil, but the tires. For some reason, the rear tires didn't last too long.

Unfortunately most carollas and civics are upwards of 20K now which is why the Yaris and Fit are doing so well for vehicles under 15K.

I own the 2009 YARIS. It had 18 miles on it when Bought, now has 2,300. It was after it hit the 500 mile mark, the Power & Pep, picked up. I have talked with several Mechanics about it, and they said that this car is Computerized, and learns the way each person drives it, & responds to them. I have not been dissapointed with this cars Performance.

I bought a new Yaris Hatchback in 2006. Sold it 1 year later. No mechanical defects, roomy interior, great mileage, and I like the way it looked. The only problem was it handled like a boat. I actually had to follow the speed limit signs around corners. You know the ones set low enough for the common denominator? The Yaris is the common denominator. Yes, the handling compares to passenger vans, school buses, the Toyota Avalon, big rigs, etc.
