+1, I'm pretty handy with my '02 BMW. I was intimidated by it when it was 5 years old, but have gotten much more comfortable working on it now. I've done probably dozens of full restorations on older cars, so have quite a bit of mechanical experience.

BMWs are easy to fix. Porsches are the Da Vinci Code of engines. It took me twice as long to change a water pump on a 911 Carrera than to change a water pump and fuel pump on an M3.

That's only "part" of what I meant.

WHY does this '02 have almost 1.4 million miles on the original engine?

"Rah-rah" import is BS.
