I got pulled over for speeding today. I was going 79 in a 55 mph zone, and the cop wrote me up for 65, a 14 mph differential. That's the only time I've ever gotten a break on a speeding ticket, so I guess that's my maximum differential.
I got 113 in a 55/Construction Zone..............best part I was actually going 55. Drove through the guy's trap 6 times that day so I knew he would be there. I think he was either manufacturing tickets or someone did blast past him and he overshot the speeder going after me in the distance. $518 ticket reduced to $250 no points/no driving school. Gas receipt saved me, got gas and drove 16 miles in 16 minutes (time on receipt compared to time on ticket). Judge knew the gas station, knew the area and believed me. I still wait to read about the trooper being caught manufacturing tickets.....hasn't happened yet.
Have I driven 113?.........yep! Did I that night?.....nope.........oh well.

113 in a 55....that's a ticket with some hair on its chest!
To get a ticket like that and be innocent must be pretty nerve-wracking.

I was somewhat in shock. I was driving a BMW M3 and the cop was parked in a Crown Vic. Had I been speeding and had a 113 MPH jump on the Crown Vic there is no way he could have even gotten close to catching me. I argued that fact and even repeated a list of activity I saw him doing in the previous hours since I went through his trap 5 previous times that day since I was moving......He hesitated for a minute but still wrote the ticket.
I have done 3 and even 4 times the speed limit at times but have only ever gotten 3 speeding tickets in 25 years and the first two were when I was 16 and 19 and were both for 15 over.

I've been driving for almost 35 years now, and I've gotten 7 tickets (including the one I got today), but none of them were that serious. I never got busted for the worst stuff I did, luckily.

The first part really isn't all that true. If you were going 113mph, he would only have had to go 114 to catch you. Which they can do easily. Obviously if you were going 113 and saw him behind you and you put the loud pedal to use, then yeah, he wouldn't be able to catch you.
A cop wasn't too thrilled with my friend when he corrected the officer when he said "I had to go XXXMPH just to catch up to you!"
75 in a 50mph highway. I still think it was BS because he didnt' use the radar according to the ticket and 25mph over just so happens to be where the fine is raised. But my lawyer said that didn't matter that he didn't use the gun.

If he didn't use radar did he pace you of just make up a number?
Been driving for more than 3 years and have yet to get a speeding ticket. Hopefully, this "phenomenon" continues
I've been driving for 7 and still have yet to get a ticket and I have traveled in many places. On interstates, I travel no more than 10 over the speed limit at 55 and 5+ at speeds at 65. On other roads, I'll vary between 5-10 depending on the roadway. If the speed limit feels just right, I have no problem following it.
I get pulled over about once a year for speeding but I never get a ticket.
I did get a ticket in 2007 for going 66 in a 55mph zone. The sheriffs deputy was only about 25 years old (brand new and something to prove) and he wasn't interested in me until I told him that I had a 9mm under the seat.
Before that it was at least 30 years since I got a ticket.
