What was so bad about driving it? I've eyed driving mine so far...

Yes, it sounds like something stuck in or on the tire.
My father in law used to buy the smallest , most inexpensive vehicles he could. The two I know of were a Ford Fiesta and the Chevy Aveo. He would always complain about things going wrong with them. And basically I told him you buy the most inexpensive cars you can and complain about the quality ? They are cheap for a reason. Here in Michigan we have some of the worst roads for potholes and things and he would always break suspension components. When it came time for his next car I worked hard to talk him into a bit larger of a car, he ended up with a Ford Focus.. a bit better.

I would have loved to have bought Toyota, however, I do not have a lot of money, and this was something I could afford. I was told that in the last two or three years the aveo has improved.

Anyway, it has 52,000 miles on it and I am hoping for the best if I take good care of it. The only reason I posted on here was to get help with the noise...it really doesn't make anything better to tell me I should have bought a better (and more expensive, not able to afford it) car.
You titled the thread "why can't I seem to own a car for more than a month before something goes wrong?!" then complain when someone gives you a perfectly reasonable answer to that question?

Ok but you did post "Ugh, why can't I seem to own a car for more than a month before something goes wrong?!"

A better car doesn't have to be more expensive. Anyways, have Carmax check it out and, while you're at it, ask them whether they've done the voluntary recall work on the spark plugs.

True. Ok, you win. I wasn't so much as complaining as I was thinking it must be me and not the cars! Honestly I just figured more people would click on that then, "sound from wheel." But I do know that I bought a lower end car and that things can go wrong. I just was hoping that since I bought a newer one this time that I wouldn't have to deal with problems at least for a little while...like a couple months, haha.

A better car doesn't have to be more expensive...but that's generally how it works. I did the best I could. Anyway. Thank you, I will ask them about the spark plugs. Thank you.

Eh... even new cars have problems.
Go figure... I had pebbles in heat shield in a brand new car.

Seriously you need to get rid of that car as soon as possible. It's a death trap compared to any other car you can get for the same money, like a Hyundai or Kia. Why anybody buys such unsafe vehicles is beyond me.

I've bought used cars from people who were selling them because something needed fixing. I then fix everything which needs fixing, and the cars usually run for quite awhile before needing attention again.

I've also seen people buy a used car, fix a bunch of things, then one more thing needs fixing, so they sell it, buy another used car, then start all over again with fixing things! (So in addition to the repairs, they now also have the cost of purchasing the new (used) vehicle!)

In my experience, it is less expensive in the long run, to keep a vehicle and repair things as needed.

My cousin is a mechanic and he buys cars on the side to sell. He will only buy Toyota and Honda to flip. My family and I have done well with Toyota as well. I bought my 1998 Camry in 2001 used with 30K Miles and been driving it ever since. The paint has peeled off, head lights all faded but every time I turn on the ignition, the engine sounds like it was the first day I bought it. The only thing I've done so far is oil change, coolant change, brake change, and the 100K Miles tune up.

But yeah, in this economy, people aren't trading in their older cars for newer ones and with limited used cars in the market, used car prices have sky rocketed into insane prices, especially for Toyota and Honda used cars.

The tire noise sounds like rippled/feathered tires from the previous owner not keeping them rotated. It tends to happen to the rear tires on independent rear suspension, front wheel drive cars and GM has always been notorious for it. You can tell by laying your hand flat on the tire and then feel the tread as you go around the tire. You will be able to feel the high and low edges of the tread, which is what causes the noise. It usually causes sort of a pulsing light roar noise that of course increases in frequency the faster you go and is often most noticeable at a certain speed, typically around 40-50mph.

It isn't really dangerous or anything but can be a bit annoying. Quite often, after the tires have been on the front for a while they will even back out from normal wear and the noise will go away but if you then wait too long to rotate, the ones now on the rear will start doing it.
