I liked the previous model better, especially the stationwagon - what a beauty!

Over here, they sell your european Accord as a "sport luxury sedan" under the moniker "Acura TSX" and charge a 2000 premium over an Accord EX-L . I like the TSX for what it is, but it's interesting how that works.

Yup, it's been 4 1/2 years, and yup, I love my 2008 Honda Accord. It looks amazing and, well, it's quite an amazing car. I've posted 15-20 times about it on C-D.

Don't kid yourself, the Accord is the best thing that happened to the car since the invention of the wheel.

Are you trying to be funny or are you for real with this statement?

Old thread, but anyways....

I like them in the higher trim levels (EX?). The base models are kinda ugly though. I guess the nicer wheels really make a difference.

As a lifelong Honda fan and current Accord owner myself, I understand and respect your enthusiasm but don't you think the statement "the Accord is the best thing that happened to the car since the invention of the wheel" is a bit much? I honestly thought you were putting it on and it actually did make me laugh! But, COME ON MAN... Lets give the Accord thing a rest!

Okay, this is a bit of a retrospective.

The 2008 Honda Accord was a vehicle that was ahead of its time. In build quality, safety, performance, and overall design it blew the 2008 family sedan class out of the water. To this day a used, well taken care of 2008 Accord is a better buy than many new family sedans, and saves thousands. Put the '08 Accord up next to the 2015 family sedan class and it's still competitive. The '08 Camry, Fusion, Malibu, even Altima were all redesigned in the same 2006-2008 period, and all feel like late 2000s designed vehicles. The 2008 Accord was visionary - a solidly "2010s" vehicle. Granted some of the family sedan class has caught up to the '08 Accord. The 2013-present Fusion for example, I have to say, beats an equivalent '08 Accord. The new Subaru Legacy probably does too. The Altima has caught up, among others.

The Accord did get a redesign in 2013, and I have to say it's come even farther. The Accord probably could have gone to 2017 without a redesign, but Honda took something awesome (the 2008-2012 Accord) and made it better. I have to say the 2014 Hybrid I rode in on Aug. 26, 2014 just blew my mind away.

I think some of the criticism leveled at the 2008 Accord when it came out had to do with that it was "ahead of its time".

Both of my 2008-2012 Accords, my old 2008 4-cylinder EX-L and my current 2011 V6 have been dreams on wheels. At nearly 64,000 miles, all my 2011 has needed was a new battery. It gets 25 mpg (with mostly city driving, 30-50 mph) with 271 horsepower and a 6 second 0-60 time.

So that's my view on the 2008 redesign of the Honda Accord, in late 2014.

Even after having several years to digest I can't find anything good to say about it's styling. It is a very unattractive car (worst than even the droopy rear on 2003 Accords) while the 2013+ Accord is quite good looking. The 2008-2012 Accord is a definite sore point for Honda.

You should work for Honda. Or maybe you do work for Honda.

While I am trying my best not to be offensive, some things do slip by.

An accord "might" be a good/great value among its segment. I would rate it higher than Nissan and Toyota's offerings. But once you go RWD, or basically above 30k segment and look at other offerings you realize, the Accord ends up as a pathetic econo sedan a large on at that.

And then you go drive one of the 60k segment cars (E class / 5 series) and no one wants to be seen anywhere near an accord.

I havent even gone to teh Audi A8 / S class / et all.

The accord is the best thing, lol. what a joke.
