I think most people here aren't looking at this in the best way. Yes we're talking about cool classic cars, but we're also talking about a car you could live with driving every day, in the real world. I chose the Datsun 510 because it's fun, but not so impractical you'd be tired of driving it everywhere and using it for real everyday things.
I would love to drive around in an older Cadillac everyday. I love the feeling of floating on a cloud while riding down the street.
A good choice!
You could enjoy the smooth and quiet ride and comfortable interior yet still enjoy having power when needed. Which is one of the reasons I would pick it over a '60s/'70s small, economical import... most were too slow and couldn't burn rubber... or nowhere near like a V-8 American car could.
Here is a (small) photo of a '74 Coupe de Ville my mom used to drive...

I am the opposite I like the hard hitting stiff suspension in both my cars and my truck esp. when my truck has the bed unloaded it will beat the heck out the passengers but it keeps me in touch with the road or when I go off-roading.
The floating on a cloud and having numb or no steering feedback at 75-80MPH makes me feel motion sickness for some reason.
I had a '72 Polara. It was a nice cruiser. But my '69 Monaco was a much better car. It had the 383 V8 which was more powerful and used less gas than the 360 they put in the '72 model year.
It also had unique features like the Super Light that was like a spotlight on the road when you turned on the brights.
