A Mercedes 600 would fit the bill as a comfortable daily driver from the non-computerized era.

I just re-read the OP where it mentions what i'd mod on it so I thought i'd tell you what i've done to 'update' mine and a couple of pics'. I've not made massive changes as I still wanted it to be the same car if you see what I mean. It's a Rover P6 3500s V8 by the way.

I use this Monte Carlo as a "semi" daily driver, when I don't drive the 93 f150. Both fit the OPs criteria. It is lightly modified: Dual exhaust, 4 bbl Edelbrock carburetor, sunroof, swivel bucket seats, CD player, fresh paint, mag wheels.
I've put a lot of miles on my 1930 Dlx Model A Roadster with Rumble Seat... mostly to and from work.
Bone Stock down to the tire tube stem caps.
For 25 years my daily driver was my 72 Plymouth Valiant... still have it parked out back.
Only had to be towed home once... a timing chain went out. About $40 for parts and a Saturday morning and I was back in business... Can't recall how many 1 yard cement buggies that car has hauled for my projects.
Cement yard now requires a full size 3/4 ton or better to haul concrete... took a picture in one time of my Plymouth at their yard with buggy in tow... young guys couldn't believe it!

Might as well get the last year of that bodystyle... '96. Twin-turbo is a must, bummer they didn't sell a turbo convertible though.
It depends a lot on the duration and type of 'daily driving', so here are a few I'd consider.
69 Z-28 with a little gearing, like 4:11 or even 4:56 depending on use routes ... it would be nice to have the factory chambered exhaust...not much of a highway package but great fun if you are old enough or young enough to stand the decibels for a while. (A '67, '68, or a '70 wouldn't be bad either)
'70 Datsun 240-Z, but a very small car by modern standards so (as with any older 'classic') safety becomes a concern in the days of so many head on's caused by texting etc.
'70 Buick Riviera would be nice for longer highway cruises...oh and make it the "GS" model...in white.
'70 Cuda AAR with automatic .. sort of a nearly practical compromise of the above.
Heck there are a few more but...I would also not want to alter these cars much if at all so, all things considered, daily driving is probably dreaming only. Truthfully with the exception of the Riv, the seats and seating position might not be kind in long term use on old bodies and many modern cars have them outfeatured by a lot.
I guess this is why I won't ever have another one of these...but it was a funnnn time.
Lamborghini Miura. For something more attainable... I've always liked the Olds 442's. I'd want a '69 or '70.
