Your post is very salesman-ish.....
Just call "us"...???
Are you a representative for onstar or something? It just seemed like your post was more of a sales pitch than a response.
Actually, I have never locked myself out of my vehicle. I always have the keys in my hand to 'click' the doors locked. I then carabiner the keys inside my purse.
I love the fact that my 1995 Lincoln Town Car has an electronic keypad on the door... that way if I leave my key or remote entry fob in the car, I am simply use the pad on the door. Its a shame more cars don't have this!!
Its the only one of my cars that has this feature... I wish they all had it. AFAIK, Ford Motor Company is the only car company to offer this as an option on several of their vehicles. Even today they still offer it as an option, (even on the base Fiesta) and they have since the 80s on select cars.

With keyless entry, believe it or not I've heard of women leaving their key/purse in the vehicle and by some computer fault the doors lock. Toddlers have even been trapped in this way.

I had no idea it was still offered. Thanks for mentioning that. I loved that feature on an older car we used to have.

Well, since I never leave a purse or my keys in the car, that will never happen to me!

Yep, sure is and it is a great option! On the Explorers (and probably on all of the Lincolns), it is "hidden" in the drivers front door frame and illuminates when touched to make it visible. On the other Fords, it is a more visible keypad. I find it cool that Ford even offers it as an option on its smallest car, the Fiesta as an option, even on the base model. It is a $95.00 option on the Fiesta. I think Ford offers it standard on the F150 with the "Lariat" and higher trims and make it an option on the XLT trim. I don't know why more makers didn't offer it. If I ever get a new Ford, I will definitely get this option. I use it often on my Town Car. Many times I will just leave the keys with the remote key fob in the car and lock the doors and use the keypad to unlock.
i carry a spare fob in one pocket and the car keys are on the key chain. always.
i locked the keys in the car far from home once. it was educational watching the AAA guy inflate the bulb which pulled the corner of the door away from the frame so he could insert his tool to open the door.
