Sad thing is on most vehicles you have to "opt" for the highest trim level in order to get this feature, even as an option.

I imagine that at some point it will work its way down the food chain to less expensive packages--the way backup cameras are. Right now, I think my best option is to buy a 1-2y/o Chrysler touring-L with the safety package, or buy a basic new minivan and add an aftermarket kit for $500+.

my dad taught me how to eliminate the driver's side blind spot; lean forward while looking through your side mirror. that car in the blind spot will come into full view. try it.
