Question Fast driving abusive?

Is driving your car fast abusing it? I have seen people who have driven there cars fast all the time and it seems that their rear ends sit lower to the ground for some reason. Also, it looks like the wheels are under too much weight or something because the car seems to sit lower on them. What causes this?

Well, when you floor a car, weight transfers rearward, leading to shocks losing compression over time and worn-in springs.

people can abuse the hell out of their cars driving slow. here is the typical procedure for jackholes leaving the parking space in the dead of winter: turnkeyreversegasstopdrivegasvroooooom. yeah that fast. dead of winter and the car is moving before the damn starter disengages lol. maybe they never break the speed limit out on the road, but that car just got beat to ****.

Could it be that they're not as tall as the people who drive their cars slower???

Driving fast isn't necessarily abusive, it the quick launches or driving it at high RPM that is abusive. Some cars are actually more efficient driving at a fast steady speed - 80 MPH and up, depending on gearing, then say 30 MPH.

Rear ends sitting lower to the ground? I haven't a clue - driving fast shouldn't cause that except at launch at a dragstrip you will see cars "squat" at the rear and raise up on the front. That should have no impact after launch, maybe a little wear and tear on it. My guess is the cars you are looking at just have a heavy load in the trunk or some ricer kid tried to lower his car and did it wrong.

Id agree with the above post, high rpm on a car not designed for that type of load is simply going to wear parts out quicker.
I always let any car warm up. Usually the idle is set a bit faster when you start up to promote lubrication of the engine. I wait for the idle to drop then I go.

Most of the time fast driving results in excessive brake wear.
