list the cars that went from good looking to dog ugly in one year design change. I'll list my two choices for example. First off the 1973 Mustang to the 1974 Mustang.

I understand the need for Ford to have gone down in size and power of the 74 Mustang, but dang that thing was ugly, especially in hatchback (Pinto) form

The other was the 2008 Acura TL, one of the hottest looking Acura sedans made. I loved the look of this little sedan. Then came the 2009 Acura TL. Great looking car,...if you're inside the car. From the outside, OH MY GOD WHAT HAVE THEY DONE!?

There's no excuse for this horrible exterior styling design change.

I think the same could be said for most previous gen vs. current gen Acura and Lexus vehicles. I might even be inclined to include some Infinitis. Japanese luxury brands have been in a styling crisis for the last few years.

Bangle BMW's were horrible, but BMW's newer designs have been improving, especially the Gran Coupe.

BMW was dead to me after the demise of the E36. The lines became way too feminine.

The 1974 Mustang II was w/o question, a slap to the face of the Mustang. I'm sure at the time it was a great idea, but looking back it was clearly the wrong move for Ford. The Mustang should have never been allowed to become the overbloated pig it had become starting in 1971. Funny thing is at the time the Cougar was the Mustang's competitor, yet in 1974 they didn't downsize it....instead they decided to let it compete with the T bird.

1985 GM's E - body platform ( Toronado, Riviera, Eldorado) excellent.

I agree with the TL, I've always admired the way that it looked but the newer design came out with the bird beak front end. It has grown on me though.

Vettes. A few years. Vettes have gone back and forth a few times.
Those 80's-90's Vettes look like kit cars bodies you put a Beetle or something. The Early 2000's restyle was fantastic, now it is back to generic. I think its a thankless task trying to make Vettes look as good s they did back in the first half of their life. I dont think it can be done.

MG's. The bumper regs for american export MG's ruined them, so '73 to '74 for MG fans was a heartbreaker

When Trabant went to that VW polo motor abomination in 1989, I was devastated.
