Person buys a new or nearly new car. Around 5 or 6 years old, the owner is angry with the car for leaving them stranded. Problem was a dead battery but they still blame the company that made the car instead of themselves for not getting the battery tested BEFORE it left them stranded.
YES.....I don't know how many times I've heard people say "I'm never buying GM again" because the car broke out of their own neglect.
We live in a day and age where you're never at fault but the other guy is.
I don't think the OP was suggesting that a 5 or 6 year old car is "new or nearly new." He's saying that the subject would have bought a new or nearly new car - say, something under 2 years old - and had the problem when the car was 5 or 6 years old.

I ALWAYS ask about the battery when I buy a used car! Once, when buying from a private party, I asked about it, and they instantly dropped the price by $300, so I could buy a new one. A L W A Y S check the battery in used car!
Some people will do anything to deflect the blame from themselves, though.

A $300 dollar battery?????
I have been looking online at car reviews, and people were crying a river about having to replace the breaks every couple of years and stupid stuff like that. I even saw a guy write a bad review about the Lincoln LS complaining about his turbo going bad...the Lincoln LS never came with a turbo.
Kinda like someone buying a 20 year old vehicle and having lots of problems and blaming the manufacturer.
