I personally would not wait to replace that tire. And would put my spare tire on if needed. A bubble in the sidewall could have occured from a number of things including hitting a pothole, or an impact against the side of a curb like in a fast food drive-thru, improperly inflated tires could cause that issue, and a manufacturing defect when they made the tire, just to name a few.
Last Saturday, we stopped at a Mr. Tire to top up the air in our tires. The guy who did it said our left (driver side) rear tire has an "impact bubble" on it and needs replacing. We took it to our regular place and they confirmed it, but said it needs to be done "soon" but it's okay for now. We'll get it done, but what could cause a bubble to form in a tire? We're waiting until next week to replace it. Bad idea?
I wouldn't drive that car until the tire is replaced. A blowout on the freeway can be a VERY bad thing.

I have no choice. I have had blow outs twice. They weren't that bad. I know that they could be, but these weren't. The tires are getting replaced tomorrow. We have ordered the tires and they will be put on tomorrow.
Made it! Got two new tires today. Now all 4 are the same. The other two were purchased a few months ago.
