im less concerned now. but if i get the car back too late today then the problem could be finding a parking spot in which i would have to shovel in. maybe i will wait till tomorrow AM to go up and get it.
i drove it around the block this AM with the ABS and brake lights on before reparking it. i had no choice as i was alarmed at what was going on and it was too late to back into where i left. it felt like the brakes were choking the car as it wasn't moving as it normally did when i hit the gas.
rl, probably all that needs to happen to fix the car is to get it into a heated garage long enough to melt any ice that's jamming your parking brake on.
Avoid using the parking brake in icing conditions. I only use mine when I really need it, ie parked on a hill. If you look around you can usually find a level enough place to park that you don't need the hand brake. Use common sense though, if you need it use it, better the sitch you are in than to have the car roll out into traffic or whatever.
thx Mitch. I got the car back Tuesday no charge. paperwork says they "found code 1403 RR Speed Sensor Malfunction che cked resistance-good". when the car was being looked at on Monday the technician mentioned something about the "bellcrank" may have frozen up. now i have a bottom rear left signal light that is coming out on the right side so i am going to take it to "Joe Torre". hopefully he can just get it back in without having to go to Toyota
