I watched the video on YouTube, pretty awesome! But it said world record of 270 mph for a 2 seat sports car, yet there was a video on the right side of a ford gt going 278 in a mile. A ford gt is a 2 seat sports car.

I'd argue that a modified Ford GT is far closer to "true production" than what is planned to be a maximum of 29 examples of a different tuner bolting a GM engine into a Lotus (it is titled as a Lotus since that is what it is sans engine).

Right, a stock Ford GT is a factory true production. A 2000 HP twin turbo Hennessey Tuned Ford GT isn't a production car any more. Its a modified car, and cant be called "production" any more. I would argue for it to be a true production car, it has to be exactly the way it left the factory.

Yup; I'd consider neither to be an actual production car. I love the Ford GT though, I may get one at some point; amazingly, you can still find them with incredibly low mileage.
So if Shelby built 30 Ford GT (twin turbo 2000 HP) cars it would be a production car? This is confusing since Shelby has many different variations of its GT500 with different HP numbers ect..
