I had a 85 that I bought used in 89, with 40k on it. While I generally like the car, and the way it handled, the thing had a host of issues. AC went out, AC hose routed to close to the turbo as I recall. Recalled for interior issue..Ford replaced the seat covers on the cars that had leather, at least for the 85's, dash was cracking, driveshaft had a "rubber donut" in the middle of it that decided to go south on the way home to VA from Daytona Beach, still driveable to car had a very bad vibration until fixed. And finally it would decide to cut off at stop lights, ended up being a bad TPS.
But all said it was a fun little car, but really started to nickel and dime me to death....traded it in on a new 94 Ford Ranger, that I still have

NADA, KBB and all that crap isn't going to help on anything more than a few years old. blue book is borderline meaningless as it is.

Condition and demand are what drive older car pricing. Enthusiast forums, ebay and cars.com will tell you asking prices. However, I think on what are non-collectable cars, its really more of a gut feeling than anything else. Not fully running automatically puts you in a low price range, unless you're 100% sure you know whats wrong with it and how to and how much it costs to fix.

Thank you. Black Book, huh...

That car isn't going to fast by 2014 standards......1988 it was quick but certainly today it would get dusted off by any kid in a Subaru/Mazda!

I love late 80's 911s, in the late 80's they were great but in today's world 214 HP is nothing. Then add the no abs brakes, no power steering and weak a/c and suddenly the fantasy of the car is far better than the reality! I drove one a few years back and was stunned at how slow the car was. I ended up buying a new M3.

I would drop a new coyote motor in one and have a blast!
