Ford F150 is number 1 which discredits your point. Also, management runs these companies and not the UAW. This gets really old bashing the worker for managements mistakes. I guess the buck does stop at the workers instead of management having the guts to take responsibility.
Living in the 12th Free-est country in the world (thats the USA by the way). surely means you are free to buy whatever you want when you want ? With many vehicles only being assembled in the USA what is an American car anyway? The Ford F-150 is currently the most American built car with 80% of parts coming from the USA followed closely by Toyota and Honda and Dodge.

I'll support American at every chance, and I worked construction from 14 to 52 and when it takes talent Americans build it. Anyone can build a shack, but it takes real men to build America baby. Large projects like highrise, heavy highway and bridges, and stadiums are built by trained personnel.
Them Japanese sure do know how to make earthquake resisting shacks...
WTF does being "real men" have to do with being American? To listen to you, one might think we've got the only stadiums, highways and high-rises. Take a trip to Europe or Asia one of these days if you'd like to see that the rest of the world is just as capable of building impressive structures. Moreover, many of those "real men" you refer to who work in construction were, in fact, not born in the States.

Our Nuclear plants don't melt?
Real men = old school construction workers working out in the elements from freezing temperatures to blistering heat with hands swollen from their toil. Ah, the good ole days.
I am impressed with the Asian bamboo scaffolds. However, we were the leader in the industrial revolution, and our technics are used throughout the world.

This is pure nationalist drivel. We live in a global economy. You can't buy a 100% American car...and frankly...I wouldn't purchase a GM product if you paid me to but that is due to their product line being unappealing to me. We do have Fords...but that is because we CHOSE them (see Capitalist Free Market Society) and the fact we are able to choose what vehicle we wish to spend our (or the bank's) money on depends on us. I do worry about our Manufacturing base but some of those "fuzzy foreign" car manufacturers are bringing jobs here as well.
Oh...btw...I can almost guarantee you are using foreign products to post on this website. Get rid of your mobile phone and computers...the evil foreigners built them.
Op thinking is exact type that lead US big three and UAW to need special bankrupt terms and taxpayer bailout. One would think they would have learned something by now hopefully.
And good luck buying a house built by Americans, or food picked by Anericans. Few people that are here legally will 'stoop' to such work (I worked construction from age 14-18 and other than the foreman and inspectors, I was the only 'gringo' on any site I worked, and I can see why, the job sucked, but it was money).
Or clothing made in a,erica. Without imports we would all be nudists sitting in homes without televisions
