I've typically heard them called Jersey barriers, but I prefer to call them median barriers.

They are called "Jersey Barriers" they were developed by the Stevens Institute of Technology in the 1950's and introduced in there current form in 1959 by the New Jersey Highway Dept. hence the name "Jersey Barrier" They are also called "Jersey wall's", Jersey Rails", or in the western United States a "K-Wall". In B.C. Canada they are called a "No Post".
