The Camry XLE cost about $3K more than the Camry LE and the Accord EX cost about $3K more than the Accord LX, and what they add for $3K is basically the sunroof and that's about it. What else is added? Is it worth the $3K?
Better audio system, fog lights, auto-up windows, heated/power side mirrors, power seats. Most of the stuff I don't really give a crap about. auto-up windows are nice but the idea that they still actually charge for it drives me insane. Moon roof is really nice. I'll probably never buy one without again.
I wouldn't buy a Camry with a sunroof. My Mom's has had the roof popping issue since she bought it. Toyota did the TSB repair and it still does it.
If I were to buy a Camry I'd look for an SE without the sunroof.
Exactly. My best friend has a 2008 XLE Camry and since it was one year old and only had 8k miles the sunroof made a very loud noise when he would open it, then a month later it does not even open at all now and what drives me insane he does not care and never took it to have it repaired as it was still under warranty! OTOH I had an accord with the sunroof stopped working completely too but it was 10 years old. still nothing worse than having it and not being able to use it!
For me personally, I wouldn't bother to pay that extra money, but stay with the base model. In case there is something I really want, I will consider adding it alone (in case possible).
