Lets see, those who want to break the law (speeding) are complaining about others breaking the law (driving in the left lane).
This can just as easily be turned around like this: those who want to break the law (driving in the left lane) are complaining about others breaking the law (speeding).
See what I did there?
Of course, this approach leads to chicken/egg territory...
That's true, you didn't mention it. And that's exactly why I did. Of course the left lane, in many places, at most times of the day, is for passing. I was pointing out that it doesn't work everywhere.
(And 45 is pretty optimistic for Los Angeles rush-hour traffic.)
Where I live, this absurd battle is fought out daily on the city streets, let alone freeways. Makes it rough on those of us who need to make a left turn...
I notice people driving slow in the left lane for a mile before they turn left. It's ok to get over to the left lane when your turn is coming up!
Oh, please. You don't care even one iota about police. You care because it's an inconvenience to you personally, not the police. You're not fooling anyone.
Well..... There is the situation where there is an exit on the left.
Thats a rather rare occurrence on most interstate highways but is understandable in those rare circumstances but that isnt really the situation that the topic is about.
If you are corking traffic at 55 in a 65 or whatever in the left the CHP can ticket you, especially if you are pulling a trailer that shouldn't be out there unless it's a two laner with heavy traffic. Speeders and corkers are both breaking the law.
That speed limit sign is the ultimate law. Its pretty much "This is the speed limit. It is to be obeyed above all else. You do not go above this speed. If you do there will be consequences"
