And whats with this extended cab business? City guys driving them with tinted windows to hide the kids in the back? In classic pickup trucks the kids actually rode in the back because it was such fun. Now in most places thats illegal.

Kids riding in the back of a pickup is a terrible idea - at least on a normal road. Extended caps have been a huge success factor for trucks - whether the back seats are used for adults or kids - they make a truck a viable primary vehicle for lots of people. Having locked storage space is another big plus.
I was just told a 'teardrop' is the most aerodynamic.
Something about what makes all the difference is how the air
comes together after you've pushed thru it.
Makes me think of those bike helmets.

Extended cabs hold your shopping bags....and lots of other 'gear'.

No, it isn't. I'm 50 and have lived though most of the eras talked about here and I find more differences amongst cars now than at most points in history. I can EASILY tell them (modern cars) apart at a glance.
