And whats with this extended cab business? City guys driving them with tinted windows to hide the kids in the back? In classic pickup trucks the kids actually rode in the back because it was such fun. Now in most places thats illegal.

Kids riding in the back of a pickup is a terrible idea - at least on a normal road. Extended caps have been a huge success factor for trucks - whether the back seats are used for adults or kids - they make a truck a viable primary vehicle for lots of people. Having locked storage space is another big plus.

You can still buy a single cab truck.

I'm not talking about the engines. You do not see the engines. I am talking about the appearance,
My comment about engines was to another poster, not you. He said engines in cars of the 50s and 60s were special. I disagree.

Yes I have one. It is a real truck.

Here in Oregon, Classic Cars are a big thing. People drive them in groups on the weekends. They even dress in period clothing.

I was just told a 'teardrop' is the most aerodynamic.
Something about what makes all the difference is how the air
comes together after you've pushed thru it.

Makes me think of those bike helmets.

I am laughing at the turtles comments. Cars do look like turtles nowadays. LMAO. The styling is just so plain and boring and blah.

Extended cabs hold your shopping bags....and lots of other 'gear'.
Does it EVER stow a lot.

But they do look the same. The only differences is grills and light designs. Everything else is the same.

No, it isn't. I'm 50 and have lived though most of the eras talked about here and I find more differences amongst cars now than at most points in history. I can EASILY tell them (modern cars) apart at a glance.
