Grandmother died, left my dad her car (signed the title over before she passed).
He lives in Arizona, her car is registered in FL.
I do need to call the MVA/DMV/MVD help line later when they open, but wanted to see if there are things I should specifically talk to them about, or that I should we aware of.
For instance, can I register a car w/an out of state title?
What about one with no bill of sale.
No probate, everything was trusted perfectly by my grandmother (clean/even split of the estate).
In Alabama, the DMV will want to visually inspect the vehicle before registering it in your current state. As long as you can do that so they can verify the VIN it's really no issue for them.
Shouldn't be an issue if she did it before she died. It was gifted. He may need to get a passed inspection on it and it is a good idea to go ahead and insure it when transporting.
