buying vehicle in another state, title and payment process (motorcycle, buy, DMV)

My plan is to buy an old motorcycle out of Kansas from a private seller and have it shipped to ohio.

How do I protect myself from Loss of payment, get title transfered to myself.

Also, can the shipper just pick it up in Kansas, deliver it to ohio, and I do the title work in ohio?

I'd have called OH DMV and simply ask them. Otherwise, you have to wait for someone from OH here, who had same situation, same concerns, and will give you valuable advice. Chances of that?
