I even use my signal inside our community when no other cars are near me, and also on the road if I am the only car around. Just habit and how I was taught.
No. At least in this area they don't do it. Sometimes I am the only one with my signal flashing and flashing. I do make sure it's on when I'm the last car in the line so people can see me.
When a lane is right-turn only or left-turn only, do we still have to signal our turn? Turns are used to alert other drivers of our intentions & if we're in a turn-only lane, is that enough of a signal of our intentions?
Common sense says yes because the cars coming at you have no idea if your in a turning lane.

Don
Same here. It's a habit, I use my turn signal to let the other drivers know where I am going, I wish they do the same for me.
When I drive, I assume everyone else is a dumbass driver, so ill make sure. They all see me coming and going.
It is simple, you turn when you change direction & lane!
What gets me is the idiots who don't signal when they get out of round-about and slow everybody down who wants to enter but not sure about their intention...
Do you rely on people's turn signals to tell you what they're going to do? I sure don't.
Necessary in the same way that stopping at a stop sign or obeying the speed limit are necessary. So for the OP, that probably means unnecessary but we'll here about how he was surprised when getting a ticket for it =D

Turn-only or no, I'm still using my signal. It just sends a clear message to the people behind me and across the way that that's what I'm doing. There's nothing redundant about it; it's just proper.
