WI, Police Begin Fingerprinting on Traffic Stops.
If you're ticketed by Green Bay police, you'll get more than a fine. You'll get fingerprinted, too. It's a new way police are cracking down on crime.
If you're caught speeding or playing your music too loud, or other crimes for which you might receive a citation, Green Bay police officers will ask for your drivers license and your finger. You'll be fingerprinted right there on the spot. The fingerprint appears right next to the amount of the fine.

This is the future of police work and ID verification. Here they fingerprint us when we get a license. Soon the police will fingerprint people when stopped which will be transmitted to the computers for a match with the print on the license. This is all good however and should cut down on people using fake or stolen IDs.

Well I was raised that only FELONS, persons arrested, were fingerprinted. Soon everyone will be fingerprinted or retna scanned. Don't you feel this is an infringement on your right to privacy? Just like taking DNA samples from you. This feels like an infringment on you fith amendment rights. If you don't have to testify against yourself why should your body be allowed?

And what would they do if you refused the finger printing? Seems 1984 is getting closer and closer.

Seems reasonable enough for me. After all if its due to speeding or any other violation of the law you chose to be finger printed.
As for privacy. Anyone who gets hired and requires a security clearance goes through the process. I had to take a drug test when I was hired 16 years ago by P&G. Dont break the law and you have nothing to fear.

Well we don't have to be fingerprinted for a drivers liscense in Alaska. Most citizens don't need security clearence to work. Yes more and more companies are requireing Drug and Alcohol testing, this it brought on by the insurance companies and the Feds. I have to submit to random testing and it annoys the H out of me! Just remember all the things they are doing is to put the blame on the lowest guy on the food chain. If your liscensed then you become the responsible party no matter who told you to do what.
I will get off the soap box and let you all have the floor.

I don't have any problem with it. In fact I think that DNA should be gathered from all people at birth and stored in a database that can be used later on to solve crimes if need be. Everybody should be in it. Same with prints and retina scans.

Definitely sounds like a GOOD THING to me, John.
It would eliminate, or at least help eliminate, ID theft
