120 mph in a 1991 Ford Escort GT From Peterborough, Ontario, to Windsor, Ontario for about 80% of the ride.
115 mph in a 1992 Ford tempo 3.0 V6 5-speed. Windsor, Ontario on the expressway racing my step brother in a 1994 Sunbird GT. I won.
When I was in high school my friend had a 1980's Toyota celica we used to get it up to 120-125 it took for ever did that all the time on this one stretch of freeway at night was always empty. Later I went 160 in a 911 turbo been about 155-160 in my Subaru STI but seemed unstable any faster just not low enough to the ground. Best car to go fast in is a corvette they are rock solid up to 200.
I lived in Helena Montana or 14 years. When the federal government removed all federal control of speed limits in individual states Montana reverted back to what it was when the fed's enacted federal control in the seventies which was not an actual number but three words which were ""Reasonable And Prudent. ""
Since this was rather difficult to enforce due to the interpretations of varying law enforcement officers as to what "" Reasonable and Prudent ""was it went to court where a judge ruled that "" Reasonable and Prudent "" was not enforceable.
Due to this for approx. a year after the ruling Montana was effectively without a speed limit.
During that time I owned a 1991 Mercedes 560 SEL sedan. On a June morning around 10:00 AM traveling east bound on I-90 between Big Timber and Reed Point I reached 148 MPH according to my speedometer.
The really crazy thing is that I encountered quite a few others hitting well over 100 MPH during that stretch.
It was a very crazy and dangerous period of time for Montana and one that could not be sustained simply due to traffic safety but it was a hell of a run while it lasted.
130+??? in my 87 Mustang 5.0 about 24 years ago. I was following a 84-89 Vette on
I-45 from Dallas. I hung with him for several miles, even with 4 people in my car until I decided to drop back to about 70. The speedo stops reading at 85, but the needle continues moving until it hits the trip odometer peg which is about 120. When I let off the gas, it remained pegged for at least 5 seconds. Traffic was clear, but I was young & stupid and I won't do it again on a public highway. I would love to get out on a real racetrack though!
I had the same experience in the same model car on the Ohio Turnpike when I was Y&S too (But it wan't my fastest). I backed off because the front end started floating and I could feel it - scary.
Went 154mph on my motorbike on a very rural part of interstate about 3 years ago. It's crazy, the amount of ground you cover at that speed. I'd never go that fast on a public road ever again.
I was driving a 2002 Nissan Maxima on 95 South going to Foxwoods in CT with my wife at the time for the weekend and got popped for going 130...This was in 03 and needles to say he held us in the breakdown lane for a time! 500 dollar ticket..gladly we won that weekend!!!

Ah yeah....... I went 138 mph in my parent s car when I was a kid. Route 208 in Wyckoff, NJ. It took FOREVER...we did it at like 3am .
When I got my F4i, I could not resist turning it up to 145 mph in just a few seconds on the way home from the dealer. I think mine was an 02 or 03 also. Red and silver. I can't even remember. these days a 225 XT would be more my speed.

i did 85 in grand teton national park a couple of times, once in a 45 zone, and once in a 35 zone.
