Tonight while driving home my 2000 Mustang just shut off, not even the caution lights would work. After setting at a traffic light for about 2mins with absolutely no power it started. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you might have a bad ground somewhere.

Although, it could be the computer.

Are you sure it isn't an MG?

Sorry, at least mine was small enough to push!

I've been there at a light....oh, but yours started after 2 minutes...lucky.

Let's start with

1 Check the battery terminal and cable- it could be loose.
2 check the battery itself.

Then report back.

This.

Situations where the car looses ALL power are usually a bad battery cable and/or connection.

Could be an ignition switch going bad but check battery connections first.

If its similar to the Fox body I would say ignition switch. It's a very bad design. It's a worse design then the problematic Colbalt ignition switch.

'bulletin I was reading was saying that if the crank sensor heats up and gets too hot, the car will do that, and then just start right back up. The fix is to just replace the crank sensor.'

It could be a number of things but start with the simple and most likely. Most of these have already been mentioned I believe.

A broken cell in the battery can short and cause this.
Loose or corroded ground connection, possibly the main ground to the frame.
Bad ignition switch

It sounds an awful lot like the most likely culprit is the ignition switch or connection.
