I am building a custom center console for my dads Yukon I have the console built, and the cup holder locations marked. But I am not sure about how to make the cup holders I was thinking about just making a square and putting under the cup holder cut out. So does anyone have any ideas? I've found some online but would really only buy if its a last resort and I can't figure anything out. Thanks everyone, hope this is in the correct section

Are you making the console from MDF or real wood? If MDF you can buy plastic cup inserts that glue in place. If real wood you can get Forstner bits drill your hole and then route the edges. Little hand sanding stain and laquer it. I'm assuming the cup holders are on the flat topside of the console not raised up like "trucker" type console

OP - can you provide a picture of what you are building so we can offer some help (if still needed)?

If you can find a way to make them adjustable, I would suggest that. That way they can hold anything in place, whether it be a one-liter bottle of soda, or an eight-ounce cup of coffee.

Why not just buy premade of type you like. Producing one even a pair same is way high. That way you can have newest with soft rubber gripping cups.
