Those ES 300's are not that valuable....3-4.5K wholesale. An engine, on the modest side, is 3K and THAT is a break my friend as there is a fair amount of work involved. Now that you will have a rebuilt title you will be STUCK with that car, good or bad, as NO ONE wants a rebuilt or salvage title except a mechanic.

You would only replace this engine IF you were really, really going to keep it until it dies....the ROI on an engine installation with THAT car is about 3-4 years minimum.....if you can't nor do not want to keep it this long, scrap it or sell it for parts and THEN scrap it.....

The easiest solution is to take whatever they give you for it and be glad they give you THAT!

It is worth less then $500 in my opinion.

Put it on Craigslist for $1500. Maybe you will get lucky and some mechanic with a spare engine laying around will want it.
