I recently asked about something similar for my 97 Blazer and 3 different shops said - not worth it, won't last, isn't good value, rusting from the inside out (not all the places I don't think but the bottom ones yes but not the top of the back tire bump?). So no one even wanted to bother.
It was weird too, I back into a tree and creased the bumper good. I didn't look that hard to replace, I figured with a junk yard bumper right? I mean, there are bazillions of Blazers in junk yards. I didn't really care if it was a different color.
Nope, all 3 quotes insisted on new, painted. 450.00 for 2 quotes, one was over 600.00!!!! I creased the hatchback and broke the window too. This was while on vacation and I got a body shop to replace the window with a junkyard one in 2 hours for 175.00.
These guys won't replace the hatch door with a junkyard one either. One guy wanted to de-dent it, bondo it, smooth it, repaint it blah blah blah all the while keeping my car for a week.
Is it Dayton where everyone is nuts? Or is this normal?
I stopped by our local Maaco shop and showed them what I had. They would have to paint the entire rear fender but only up to the pinstripe. They quoted $420, which isn't too bad as body work goes but I just don't have a good feeling letting them paint over factory paint in excellent shape for two little spots.
It's your decision to make, but Macco is not a quality shop and does not do quality work.. They are famous for their "20 foot paint jobs" Look great from 20 feet, but not so good up close... That may be enough to make you happy...
You can always find a smaller shop without the huge overhead to save money, but it will be expensive even then. I bought a new vehicle a few years ago and it got a small dent the size of a quarter from a shopping cart collision. I took it to several shops and the estimates were in the 11-12 hundred dollar area. Yes, over a grand for a quarter size dent.
I found a small shop that did it for $700.00 and now a few years later is still looks great, you cant tell anything was done to it.
A dent that size takes minutes to repair, all the cost was in prep time, paint and material, so expect to get a large estimate for your small area.. Good luck..
You realize shopping cart dents can be pulled out right? It's about $100-150 to take out a couple small dents with PDR.
I will tell you something that my old body shop manager told my husband about fixing and painting a rust spot on a POS he had. Rust is like a cancer. You can cover it, fit it all you want, but it will come back.

Agreed. Macco is a quick, cheap fix that can cause issues for you down the line. Plus their warranty sucks.

Not all shopping cart dings can be pulled out. I've seen some as deep as hail dents that required conventional repair.
