I have no doubt they are, but after that frozen pizza comes out of the oven I'm sure they'll be watching fail army.

Definitely very sad to hear, a great guy and a great show.

They have a great quote from him on the Car Talk blog:

Quote:
"I like to drive with the windows open. I mean, before you know it, you're going to spend plenty of time sealed up in a box anyway, right?”

While I'm not a vehicle enthusiast, I still loved the radio show "Car Talk", so it's sad to hear this news.

I heard the news on NPR also and it really upset me. I too didn't realize that they were so old, so it came as kind of a shock. I love Car Talk - they were both so funny. Sending in your answer to the puzzler on the back of a $20.00 bill, "Stump the chump," and their amusing closing credits as others have mentioned.

@Fargobound: The show wasn't so much about repairing cars as it was about being funny and entertaining. Why get down on people simply because you don't share the same sense of humor? I'm sure the news will sadden very many NPR listeners.

This is really sad. I always enjoyed the show. Shocked he had Alzheimer's disease.

Remember.. They retired 2 years ago.. Any shows you've heard in the past 2 years have been 'Best of' for lack of a better term.

I am well aware. I haven't really listened since they retired. The few reruns were always enjoyable.

Can't rep you again.

Loved "Stump the Chumps" segment, the puzzler, the ever-changing version of the credits full of bad puns, all the little details that made the show unique.
The brothers' infectious sense of humor just made us listeners feel good-that counts for something.
I don't drive, I don't know jack about car repair, but I would tune in each week to their show nonetheless.
