If you know what to fix again, that's probably the reason it failed.
Look--I don't mean to sound rude, but salvage inspections aren't rocket science. You never fail for things repaired properly. You do fail for things that are either half-assed, or simply not addressed. Usually the latter. You probably already know what failed the car. Again, I really don't mean to sound rude, but if you don't know why it failed from looking at the repair work, then you are already over your head in the whole project.
The best solution is to have the person who fixed it get it inspected for you, because if they are already in the business of fixing cars, they probably already have a connection with an inspector. If that won't work, then ask them what would fail the car. Unfortunately, if you don't have enough knowledge to figure that out on your own, you should avoid the business of salvage cars. People don't understand the difference between salvage and rebuilt salvage. It's the inspection.
Car's repair were done with Bondo instead of re welding with cut off parts from another vehicle.
Is there a law saying it has to be repaired with welding instead of patching bondo work?
I have seen many cars in worse condition than mine on the road.
Safety inspection is passed and all the parts are in place. It doesn't look like new car but it looks like used car.
That's really weird that it passed VA safety but won't pass salvage inspection.
The salvage inspection form specifically indicates what was either repaired or replaced. Body filler alone shouldn't fail the car, but if there is some big structural flaw that wasn't repaired, that could fail it. It's also possible that the inspector was just a prick. I'd try to get a different inspector. They should at least tell you why it failed, otherwise how are you supposed to fix it?
