Subaru is probably the best choice if you're after reliability and a quality AWD system. There are a boatload of lightly-used (under 20K on the clock) Legacies floating around... I imagine that with a little digging you could get a 2011+ with ~20K miles on it for your budget that still might have some time left on the factory warranty.
