the also had the Chevy/Geo tracker mini SUV that was 1/2 the price of a Jeep wrangler but 90% as fun to own and drive with the top down.
Used to see tons of these on the roads back in the mid 90's to early 00's.... I think alot of people bought them as their first vehicle back them as well kinda like the Suzuki Samurai aka the Sammy was huge back in the 1980's
I had one of these. It was a 91'. I really enjoyed it. I had a jeep years ago and found it to be a hassle I wanted a little truck that required little maintenance, had an easy to remove top and 4wd for the winters. The Tracker was perfect. I sold it to a friend, who sold it to a guy he works with and it's still running.
for the PNW, Alberta, Utah, Colorado, Nevada NorCal/SoCal or Alaska hard to wrong with a Jeep wrangler IMO To the east coast I bet you guys have amazing places to see as well just I never travelled there outside of a few vacations and crappy rental cars so I have had the chance to wheel there yet but still a Jeep is the way to go IMO... So no disrespect meant from us on the wheelers on the West Coast
The Jeep Four Door Wrangle is ONLY convertible made that seats five people.
All the rest seat either four people or two people.
Lol, stick the youngest (or smallest) in the trunk... oh wait, most convertibles don't have much trunk space.
I'd like to get a convertible that seats two kids. I miss my Honda S2000, but got rid of it for a car with a back seat
Now that the kids are outgrowing their jumbo car seats, the idea of a convertible is crossing my mind again. I can't believe I'm saying this, but that Buick looks almost tempting. I suspect it'll cost 40-50k though, so I won't think about it for long.
Dangit!! I just did a google search on the buick... "In the Buick, the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is rated at 200 horsepower (up from 197) with 206 lb-ft of torque, or 221 lb-ft on overboost."
My problem with convertibles is when nosey people stare in your car. I don't know about other places, but here in GA people like to pull up beside you and stare at you while you wait for the light to turn green.
Yes! Especially if it's an old one. I had a '57 Buick convertible for a few years. I hated driving it around town, because everyone gawked, gave me the thumbs up or had to comment on the car. I understand that and don't blame them, but it still made me feel like I was in a fish bow.
I'm not a big fan of convertibles, even hard tops. I have a corvette with targa top and I never take the top off. Maybe just once when I first got it. I also driven my friends Mercedes SL550 hardtop convertible and I never open the top.
