How people with no degree buy luxury cars? and have enough money to maintain their vehicles?
Why does a person need a degree in order to afford a luxury car? Degrees are not necessarily needed to earn big bucks.

Anyway, if someone's only consideration is the amount of money to be earned, he or she might want to consider only those occupations fields that offer great pay.
Why are you even bothering with this kid anymore? He's just trolling now. Either that or he's actually as dumb as he sounds which is doubtful.

The great thing about living in America is that you are free to buy anything you want no matter how much you make or if you do or don't have a degree.
It's the responsibility of the banks to underwrite the loan, if there is one, and make the determination if you are worth the risk.
That's the way it used to be before banks got backstopped by the Govt. and are now to big to fail.

Never, ever, underestimate the rank stupidity of people. If you do, you'll go through life disappointed in your fellow man.

LOL, true. As I get older and meet more people from different socioeconomic classes, educational backgrounds and ethnic backgrounds, I now realize that none of these things have any correlation to intelligence. There are dumb people who have successful careers and smart people who are jobless and poor. Life is mostly a game of risk and luck.

Do you have ANY idea of how many English Lit Majors, Psychology Majors, Arts Majors and others are working at Starbucks? Don't equate "degree" for intelligence. For most of them, the would have been better starting a moving business for all those students coming and going.

Ever heard of the phrase; "Mine the Miners"? Look it up....

The OP and many others seem to think that everyone with a college degree, are the top earners in the country. Wrong!!!!

The jobs that the majority of college graduates get are not high pay jobs. If we look at what the typical college graduate can expect to earn to enter their chosen profession, we find that over half can expect to start at $30,000 to $40,000 when they get their first job in their profession. And in 15 years be established enough and have experience enough, that they can be earning in the upper realm of their profession.

Majors That Pay You Back

A commission salesman/woman can earn far above that amount. A good carpenter, machinist, etc., will earn more than half the college graduates earn.

I know this from experience. I got out of the navy (joined with my draft notice in the post office box) in 1954. Less than 2 years later selling furniture in a quality store, I was earning over $125,000 a year in today's dollars, and after that I never looked back.

One of the links at the start of this post, had Real Estate Broker as one of the high paid jobs not needing a degree. I moved into the real estate business in 1972 as an investment/commercial/farm specialist. The article says agents and brokers earn from about $30,000 to $180,000. That article did not reveal that over 80% of the people that get their license and start to sell real estate will fail out of the business due to not making a living, and many will go broke before they leave. Or that 80% of all real estate is sold by 20% of the agents/brokers. $30,000 or so, is considered the income made by full time permanent agents. I sold my first apartment house my first day in the business, the one next door to that one 2 days later, and the next week I worked, I exchanged a 16 unit apartment house for the down payment on a large irrigated farm. I had a lot of years experience in sales, and spent one year taking university courses on real estate of the type I wanted to handle before entering the business. I knew how to find clients, and how to sell, so I had a big advantage over the vast majority of new agents. I did more dollar business in those first 2 weeks, than all but the best sell in a year.

There are a lot of people without degrees that make a lot of money. There are a lot of degree holders that never make any amount of good money in their lives.

I have driven luxury cars when I was in business. Today a luxury car if not important. We have a 2012 super loaded explorer, a 1999 Blazer in like new condition, and a 2006 F-150 pickup in top condition but no luxury car. We live in a 3700 sq. ft. custom home on 5 acres across the road from the best part of our city that is free and clear of loans. We keep a housekeeper and a young man to take care of the outside of our home employed.

When I got out of the Navy, I was married with 2 kids, and we had just enough money to take care of us for 30 days. We have never gone hungry, and always had a decent roof over our heads. I never on the other hand, have expected anything to be given to us. We earned everything we have ever had. We never expected to get things handed to us.

On these threads, I see a lot of young people today, that get a degree in under water basket weaving or other nearly worthless degree that expect a $100,000 a year job, even though no one is hiring under water basked weavers. They think they are privileged and everything should be handed to them. They think that no one that does not have a degree, should be able to own a luxury car or anything else above poverty level.

Too many young people like some posting on this thread, think that a degree means you can afford luxury cars, etc., and earn big money. They think if you don't have a degree you can't make enough money to live the way you want to. It is time they wake up and smell the flowers, and get into the real world.

They finance it. Seven Year (84 months) auto loans are becoming the norm now. There are plenty of people in this country who literally NEVER pay a car off. They just finance another one. Yes they are indeed broke.

I see the same stuff you're seeing Noeiey: spinner rims in front of the welfare housing complex. It's very real and speaks of poor fiscal management skills, and poor life choices in general.

But don't equate "having a degree" with income. Plenty of Plumbers, Electricians, HVAC mechanics, Welders, etc. who make well over that 70k/year you're talking about. It just takes a few years experience and running your own small business helps, particularly for general contractors.

Most new luxury cars aren't bought, but leased.
This is how the pretenders get them. They're under warranty and maintenance is included.
So, you can get a nice badge for a fairly low lease payment.
Downside? You also get an eternal car payment.

Having a degree can certainly help ones income level but it is by no means a prerequisite to achieving a decent income.

I'll take an apprenticeship in plumbing and a drive to succeed over a 4 yr degree in liberal arts any day.
You can also start at the bottom and work your way up. Many people have done it.
You may not get there "right now" but it is possible to get there.
