This video shows several young drivers put themselves into life threatening situations by not paying attention to the road for a second. Of course, being distracted has nothing to do with one's age, but this is a great visual demonstration why you should drive when you're behind the wheel, not talk, eat, read, etc...

I think the video loses some effectiveness by only showing people wiping out. Then kids can say that that's different. Show them kids who recovered in time, but came close to wiping out or an accident, and maybe they'll realize it means them too. Show both. That's what I'm thinking after the first view of it. Maybe I'm wrong with that thought, but it seems too many think that won't happen to them, or that they are more skilled than those "idiots".

Default Watch distracted drivers crash, courtesy AAA

It's not just teens.

LOTS of people seem to think that they can "multitask" and let their driving just take care of itself.

On top of the obvious, I was disgusted by the mother's comments: "she could have crashed the car. She could have injured herself".

MOM. WAKE UP. You daughter is an idiot. That's fine. For her.

SHE COULD HAVE KILLED SOME INNOCENT MOTORIST COMING THE OTHER WAY!!!!

That is what you should really be concerned with if your daughter doesn't have the good sense to stop doing stupid things.

I deeply agree with post #2 here. I also see people of ALL ages on their phone & I can't not understand for the life of me WHAT is going on that they need to be looking at their phone.
