I have a 1993 Nissan Hardbody pickup I've owned since new. I bought it because I am an avid do it yourselfer, and it was reliable and tough. The Colorado is too big, as are the Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma. I will not buy a new pickup. Trucks are now bought for "status" instead of work capabilities, reliability and economy of operation.

I just got a 93 Fleetwood to go along with my 93 C1500.

It worked out to be cool but that wasn't my intent.

My old (daily driver) truck is basically the same size as the Colorado. The auto company marketers/engineers have bloated them out to the point a big Ford F250 is not small when compared to the original Hummer Hum-Vee. Everryone wants a big ass truck, right? I prefer a mid 90s full size C1500 or C2500 over the monster truck crap they put out now. My 90s full size is now a lightweight.

I bought the old car to rest the truck and they both have plenty of life left in them.

I have always owned a pickup, sometimes more than one. It isn't for picking up the fairer sex. It is for hauling things, pulling trailers and going to out of the way places.

Not so. Trucks are bought as work vehicles, primarily. Anyone can see that by just opening their eyes on the highways. I use mine to pull a camper with, something I could not do with a Toyota or a car. I also pull an enclosed Utility trailer with it, again, something I can't do with a car. Its also a primary outdoor and hunting vehicle, or one for inclement weather, with power, ground clearance, and 4 wheel drive. That's why people still buy bigger trucks. A very small number of people buy a truck because they have no use for one, and at the prices, of lets say a fully loaded suburban, you can buy a status symbol car cheaper.

Of course not, not all of them do. Mostly airheads would do that, but what one drives can get you that first notice or look, so it doesn't do you any harm either. If you care...

Not sure how to take that, Im not that old! My truck is a tool, it gets me to work, takes off my trash, hauls my lawnmowers, pulls my boat, and whatever else I want to do with it. Do chicks find me hot because I drive, Oh gosh I hope so!!!!! But I don't care if they do or not. I met my 2nd wife in 87 driving a 72 Pongtong Catalina, so IM not sure if the car was the attraction or me. Ill let you decide that for me.
