Hi Folks,
While backing up, one guy backed up too far that broke the glass on my driver side headlights. No damage to the lights, but just a part of it is broken and its open.
If I go to insurance, its going to cost me the deductible atleast while the repair might be far cheaper.
I checked some salvage parts shop and they ask for 175 and new parts from Enzo costs 225 and up.
Its for an I35 2003 model.
Do you know any one who can patch it up?? or do I need to replace the entire part for this minor damage?
So these assemblies are built and sold as one piece as you probably now know, but the cost and quality can vary greatly. If the clear plastic shield is all that is broken (you'll have to be sure), you can buy a cheap eBay assembly and usually bake it to pull the clear shield off of it, and then replace the broken one on your OEM assembly, so you keep the original for the most part.
Your other option is just to replace the whole assembly, but be aware that since the other side is 12 years old, they will look noticeably different. It might bug you and you might want to just consider buying a new set.

Go to their Insurance company and not yours if they are different companies. Hence no deductible for you to deal with. Do not call your insurance company at all.
