I had a busy weekend with the car. First with a interior/exterior detail (its whistle clean inside) on Saturday and then a brake upgrade on Sunday. The upgrades are Power Stop slotted rotors, Hawk HPS pads, Goodridge stainless braided brake lines and Motul RBF 600 fluid. Ran out of time for the automatic transmission fluid flush but will try to get to it next week.

Seems you could have squeezed in another 2-3" of rotor under those wheels. Even the fronts look like they have a good 3" of caliper clearance.

Yeah the factory brakes on the 4.6 are very good stoppers (13 inches) but the 20" wheels could certainly be filled in with a larger rotor/caliper combo (maybe 2" inches). I'll test this setup on a track and if I experience fade I may have to go larger. I'm hoping that the Motul fluid (and its much higher boiling point temp) and stainless brake lines will help keep temps down while the slotted rotors will give me more bite and allow me to apply the brakes for shorter periods of time to reduce brake pad temperatures. The Hawk HPS pads are my weakest link right now as they aren't track specific units but they also don't come with the noise of track pads.

I've never been a fan of the street version of Hawk pads. I know people praise them all over, but I ran them once on one of my Mustangs and really weren't crazy about them.

Track units are better, but that noise would drive me nuts. I have AutoXed on them before and they bite pretty good.
