I like it. Honda really needed to do something to save face after the current model. We would have forgiven Honda in the past for making a fun car with a cheap interior, but they forgot about the fun part and took steps backwards with the chassis and suspension setup. The journalists will have to drive it before we know for sure whether they fixed that part, or just completed the transformation into a little Buick.

Actually it was the 2012 model that drew tons of criticism of its cheap interior, horrible ride quality and bland exterior. The 2013/14 refresh addressed most of those issues.
The 2-tiered dash received much criticism but I personally was a fan of it. I liked the fact that I didnt have to lift my arm to check the speedo for my speed.
I wish Honda would go back to the double wishbone Front suspension instead of the cheaper and less sporty MacPherson Strut like the had in the fifth and 6th generations and maybe add SH-AWD to make them easy to modify and fun to drive again.
the 1.5 direct injected turbo sounds decent have one for a bit of power on the base models for max fuel economy and maybe bring out a high strung 1.8L/2.0L direct injected turbo made for power in the SI/SiR to compete with the Focus ST and VW Golf GTI and a old school manual tranny option.
Get Honda back into the Sport Compact/hot hatch FWD class of cars again like they were in the 80's and 90's
To me, it looks much better than the current generation. At least the front and rear look like they belong to the same car now. Other than that I don't know the first thing about the Civic.
From a styling perspective it looks radically better than the current car and actually looks quite good. The fact that they are shaking up the drive train options is a good sign too.
Doesnt do a thing for me and comes across as just another generic Japanese daily commuter. I suppose its economical to own and operate and is very reliable, worth a look if looking for that size car..
