Honestly, it's not worth much of anything to a dealership. Most would not put it on their lot because of its problems. They'd likely call a junk yard to come and get it for a couple hundred; the balance of what they "give you" for it would come off the discount you'd get anyway.
Give it away or sell it on Craig's list for $300-$500.
I have an old truck like that. It's worth $1200 - I paid that for it and so did the last 2 owners.
If it's usable, someone will want it for what it's worth. There's always someone that will buy a running car for a few hundred. You can use that cash as part of your down payment on a new car if that's what you want.
As others have said, your other option is donating it, getting a receipt and deducting as much as you can for it.

Dealer might take it in trade, 'show' you $3-500, but in reality, it is a $1 car to them, which they will either sell at an auction, or package it to a wholesaler/pot lot.
They won't want it, and it will be displayed back in 'death row' where the general public will never see it.
It runs okay but has several cosmetic issues (windshield cracked, issue with CD player ejecting CD's, and a few dash lights randomly turn on at times for no reason). Its blue book trade in value is approx $450. One dealer offered me $500 (but they didn't really look at it), another offered $200 (they did look at it). Realistically I probably won't get over $300 or $400 for it. Hate to unload a car that still runs for only a few hundred but have gotten my money's worth out of it. I have thought about selling to a relative (younger cousin who is starting to drive or uncle that does car work on the side) but then wonder if there wouldn't be problems if I were to sell them the car and something broke. There is the option to keep it and use it as a backup since it does run okay (for now anyway). What would you do?
Don't sell to your relatives unless you like potential drama at the next family gathering.
Just give it to them.

I don't see tbe sense in junking a car that still runs alright
Craigslist is too much of a PITA. What about those used car lots that sell cheap cars, would they be willing to buy something like this?
Never sell any car with issue to someone you know, or they will harass you that you sold them a lemon. You can tell them $500-1000 as is and never bother you again, or sell it for $800 on Craigslist, since any car that runs and drives is worth $700-1000.
Find someone that really needs a car and give it to them, if you don't know someone that really needs a car I'd suggest volunteering some time at a charitable organization until you do
