I've been doing it with my 1997 truck too (used to race motorcycles, Always had leftover that I wouldn't put in the bikes the next time out). Not one single issue and the truck is at 200k miles now.

lol, I used to add a little Castrol to my 4-stroke (motorcycles again) tanks just to get the smell.

go ahead and dump the to gallons into your trucks tank. you will see a little oil smoke, but otherwise you will have no real damage. the only problem would be if you did it regularly, as it might harm the catalytic converter in the long run.
