LOL. Not to worry, the CD player has 6 slots, so I just leave them all in there for years at a time.

When I had a car, I did what I could to keep as little as possible in- didn't want it looking all inviting like. There were two 8" sub boxes, and a carseat pedastal. I miss having a car. which .eans my only relevant answer is; I keep a bicycle U-lock under the seat of my scooter, and two small nuts, incase my exhaust came loose again in the glove box.

At the moment- A bag of tools, bottle jack, 2 jack stands, some assorted fluids (brake, power steering...) jumper cables, gas can, a mountain bike, bag with 2 wet suits with various booties, gloves, hoods and spray tops, a pair of climbing shoes, a few iPhone cables, a few empty cups and a can or two, a warm jacket, a bag for the gym, a sleeping bag and self inflating pad
the safety shoes I need at work if I have to go into production. A few bottles of beer., various papers, some crumbs on the floor...

Very little.

Roadside assistance kit that came with the car (basically jumper cables, safety triangle, a couple of tools, and a first-aid kit).
A towel and cord to help with occasional cargo-hauling.
Windshield shade.
Umbrella.
Garage door opener.
Manual.
Registration.
iPhone cable.

Both of my parents always seem to have a couple hundred pounds of stuff riding around in their vehicles. My dad's a builder, so he has a bunch of tools (justifiable). My mom...sigh...would have boxes of magazines ("in case I get bored at work"), dumbbells (same reason), and lots of other junk dragging down her fuel economy. I make a point to clean out her car whenever we visit her.

Not as stupid as running the tank dry. We fill up our tank at the half way point. I have no idea about the post you are questioning.

In our cars we have a 72 hour kit for everyone. Besides that we have the stuff that came with each car.

Thanks for calling me stupid, I appreciate it. My spare gas can is on the back of my Jeep, NOT inside.

Thank you. I live in rural mountains. It snows here, a lot and there are avalanches. It only makes sense to keep those items I listed here. I also keep a small tent and sleeping bag. AND a small coffee pot.
